Exciting News from Fort Nelson Public Library! We are thrilled to announce that our brand new privacy booths from @InboxBooths are now available in the non-fiction section! These booths are designed to provide our patrons with a dedicated space for privacy and quiet work time.

Day-Before Registrations Now Open!
Whether you need a quiet place to study, focus on a project, or simply enjoy some uninterrupted time, our privacy booths are here for you!

Library Privacy Booth Usage Procedure

To ensure fair access to our privacy booths, please follow these scheduling and usage guidelines:

Intended Usage:

The library privacy booths, located in our designated quiet area, are available for patrons needing a private space for the following:

  • Phone calls
  • Zoom calls or virtual meetings
  • Tutoring sessions
  • Group study sessions
  • Medical-related uses, such as counseling, doctor appointments, or specialist consultations requiring privacy
  • Interactive online learning sessions
  • Other privacy-sensitive needs as approved by staff on a case-by-case basis

Note: Food and beverages are not allowed, except for enclosed water bottles. Please remove all personal belongings and dispose of any waste after use. Outside footwear is not permitted in the booths to help maintain cleanliness and ensure the longevity of surfaces.

Pre-registration Procedure:

  • Advance Registration Required: Privacy booth reservations must be made the day before the intended use. Register at the front desk, by phone (250-774-6777), or by email (fortnlibrary0@gmail.com). Same-day reservations are not available.
  • One-Hour Time Slots: Each reservation is limited to one hour per person.
  • Multiple Sessions: For patrons needing multiple sessions (e.g., for multiple tutoring appointments), please register each hour separately, using a specific name for each session rather than a single name for multiple slots.
  • Extended Time Requests: Requests for sessions longer than one hour may be considered on a case-by-case basis at staff discretion. Please make any such requests at the time of registration.

Day-of-Use Procedure:

  • Unclaimed Time Slots: Any time slots that are not claimed will be made available to others on a first-come, first-served basis. Please sign in at the front desk.
  • One-Hour Time Slots: patrons are permitted up to one hour in the privacy booth, once they have signed in at the front desk. If no one else is waiting after an hour, the current user may continue. However, if another patron arrives who requires the booth as outlined above, staff may request the booth be released for the next user.

Thank you for helping us make the library’s resources accessible for everyone’s needs!
